Lacy Eugene Hege, Jr.
June 3, 1921 - May 19, 2008

Lacy Eugene Hege, Jr., 86, of Craver Road, died Monday at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2008 from the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dennis Caudle and Rev. Ray Surratt. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Hege was born June 3, 1921 in Davidson County, North Carolina to Lacy Eugene Hege, Sr. and Mabel Clodfelter Hege. He was a farmer and was legendary for his German Pink tomatoes. He was also a master craftsman and tiller of the soil. The young men who worked at the farm were a joy to him as they became adults. He was also a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

Surviving are the love of his life, and his wife of 64 years, Clara “Jo” Adams Hege, and his loyal daughters, Brenda Hege Fulton and husband, James, and Patsy Hege Sims and husband, Samuel, both of Welcome, and his grandson, Ricky Fowler of Ocala, Florida.
